Introduction
A Little Background:
Assessment-Based Treatment for Traumatized Children: A Trauma Assessment
Pathway (TAP) is a treatment model that incorporates assessment, triage,
and essential components of trauma treatment into clinical pathways. The
components of TAP are based upon research on complex trauma, and the
current research on efficacious treatment modalities.
TAP was developed by the
Chadwick Center for Children and Families at Rady Children’s
Hospital-San Diego under the Substance Abuse and Mental Health
Services Administration (SAMHSA) grant that made them a member of the
National Child Traumatic Stress Network (NCTSN).
